News Update

‘Following the Public Inquiry into the draft Orders for the scheme, which concluded in October 2007, the independent Inquiry Inspector produced a report for the consideration of the Minister for the Economy and Transport. In view of the Inspector’s findings, the Minister has accepted the recommendation that the Orders should not be made. Consequently the scheme will not proceed as presently proposed.

The Minister will be discussing with his transport officials how to respond to the Inspectors remarks that this section of the A494 will require some form of improvement in the foreseeable future. Until these discussions have been held and further decisions made, it is not known how events will proceed. Should any future proposals be drawn up, then they will require new draft statutory orders.
